This is a nifty wee Casio retro LCD watch with all the usual functions, but a slightly unusual illuminating function…

Comes with all the Casio tags etc, and is a very decent “every day” watch with a touch of retro unusualness. Is that a word? Not sure. However, it’s unusualness lies in it’s illuminationness. You click on the light button and a very distinctive, and highly retro, blue light is activated! Booya! You gotta love it.

Nice, new, retro-style Japanese piece here. Very rare, very unusual…

Bit of an oddball this watch, but it’s certainly unique, and certainly a talking-point. You click on the button which emits a dancing scatter LED effect in red. In the photos it looks a bit orange, but I assure you it lights up in red LED dots in reality! When you click the button, the LED scatter effect dances a merry jig across the screen, tells you the time, and then shuts off! Awesome!

It’s a really unusual watch this, who else but the Japanese could come up with such a novel idea. However, I think it still manages to be retro in a kind of Buck Roger’s style. Younger viewers can find out who Buck Rogers was via Wikipedia…

This is a jump hour watch by Galaxy. I love this watch. I love the strap, the clasping mechanism, the movement, the lot…

And the fact that it’s a jump hour watch in black is just dreamy. I love that combination. This watch has a great automatic movement, and the clasping solid steel wrist is perfect for any size of wrist.

That red bit in the photos is just a protective sheath by the way. Dinnae panic.

Big Black Chunky LCD retro “bastard” of a watch

Hello you all. I call this watch the “bastard”. It’s big, it’s black, it’s a behemoth of a watch. Big dimensions, and suits only the manliest of man-wrists. i.e not mine.

However, it’s a cracking LCD watch, in an exciting retro format. Has all the do-da’s you’d expect from an LCD timepiece, and has a really comfy strong rubber strap.

Did I mention this watch is HUGE? As you can see from the photos it has a protective layer thingy on it, which I didn’t like to peel off. Well, you don’t do you? Peeling off those layers is like an admission that your new toy is not “new” anymore…

You regular visitors know I love my Spacemen watches, and this is probably the finest example I’ve seen for a long time. It’s certainly my favourite. The combination of the black face on the metallic steel just does it for me.
This watch is A1 brand new old stock – unused since it was produced in the 1970’s. It has all the classic hallmarks of the Spaceman range: the great font, the great logo, the branded bracelet, the unusual shape of the bracelet – all on a black face.
This is a truly cracking example of a Spaceman watch, and these watches have just rocketed in value over the last few years – and continue to do so. Enjoy the photos!

Utterly loving this watch, a genuine 1970’s jump hour watch with adorable metal strap, funky font and lovely automatic movement. If you are after a sturdy genuine retro 70’s watch, then this could be the piece for you. The metal strap is “solid”, i.e not flexible – a bit like a bracelet – but it’s still very wearable. Unuual colour combination this with the orange face, but it works well with the black dials.
